Family Ponding

Sunday morning while sissy napped, Drew, Andy, the girls, Cooper (Bryce's dog) and I went down to the pond. Drew liked wearing his floaties, even though they were probably not necessary considering he would only get in up to his ankles and jump. He had fun though.

He kept getting rocks in his shoes and we would have to remove them immediately. He must be a tender foot, like his mama (and daddy too.)
The dogs had a great time playing frisbee in the water. You have to look closely, Bailey and Lucy both have a hold of the frisbee and are swimming it back together. It was so cute. Those two are best friends.

We spent some time on the dock and Drew liked it a lot, no rocks. Next time we will have to bring a fishing pole for him.

Picking Strawberries with Papa

To celebrate Father's Day we went out to dinner on Saturday with Brett and family, Nana, Papa and the Roberts family. After dinner Drew and Papa went strawberry picking in Papa's garden. Drew loved being outside and spending time with Papa. Don't they look so cute in their green shirts. Andy says that in the picture below Drew definitely looks like a Henke and a lot like uncle Bryce. I not sure but I think Andy is saying Bryce looks angry/confused. I would take offense :)

At first Papa would do the picking and Drew would hold the bucket.
Then Drew starting to get in on the picking action.

I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the strawberry Drew was trying so hard to pick was a bit past it's prime and Drew squished it in his hand while picking it.

Drew let Papa finish up the picking while he pretended to drive.
When we got back to the house, Nana cleaned up the strawberries and Drew enjoyed the literal fruits of his labor before bed.

A Very Groggy but None the Less Cool Dude

In the car right before Drew falls asleep, he gets what Andy and I call the "1000 yard stare." On our way to Nana and Papa's house this weekend Drew had his sunglasses on, but I could still tell he was on the verge. It was so adorable. I know the picture is blurry, it is because we are driving on a very rough I70.

Visiting West Plains

June 7th and 8th the Roberts family was in West Plains. We stayed with Grandma, Grandpa George and Maggie. And since then Drew asked where they are and every time I give the same answers in West Plains at Grandma and Grandpa George's house. And every time he seems surprised. We celebrated Grandpa Corky's birthday/father's day with a dinner out with uncle Chris too. Drew had a great time, especially when it was cake and present time. When we were leaving KC on Saturday I realized I forgot my camera, what a time to forget it. A picture of Grandpa Corky, Uncle Chris and Drew with green icing lips and teeth would have been perfect for the blog. Sunday on our way out of town we stopped by for a visit at the Orr house. Ella Claire is so beautiful and she seemed to know how much I loved her, because she snuggled right in and we to sleep on me as soon as we got there. Surprisingly Jilli didn't get jealous. She was busy playing with Tara all of Ella Claire's toys. I love being at Tara's, it is one of the few places where I feel I can be just myself, good, bad and ugly. My life would be so much better if I lived closer to her and could go visit whenever I wanted.

We had a good trip. It is a very long ride for two little ones and amazingly we had no melt downs. My kids are the best.

Paintings for Father's Day

Drew made some fingerpainting masterpieces for Daddy and Papa for Father's day. Drew and Jillian also made thier hand prints and foot prints with paint for Dad, but that was almost impossible to do, so taking pictures was out of the question. What kind of lunatic paints with 2 toddlers by herself -> This girl!

Bonner Springs Aquatic Park

Last Tuesday was a gorgeous day. Sunny, 82 degree and a slight breeze. So I decided to sacrifice some sleep for some family time. We aired up Jillian's music playing, shade providing apparatus and Drew's floaties and a alligator ring. Drew was so excited. We walked up to the entrance and found out they don't permit any floatation devices. A hard concept to handle for a boy already attached to the gator around his waist. I guess mommy should have done a little better planning by looking at the website. I also thought there would be a small kiddy area/pool, like our old stomping grounds in CJ. So the plan was that I would sit on the edge and supervise little miss in her floatie and Andy and Drew would play in the pool. Well as you can see it is a little fancier than that. There was water shooting up from the ground and sprinkling from over head and a beach like slanted entrance. So I looked like a idgit in my t-shirt and shorts in the water (like I said I planned to sit on the edge of a pool). Anyway we had a good time and are planning to go back this week. Jilli loved the water. Drew was a little more cautious. He would get scared when we pushed him to do things, but would do them later on his own. He picks up his floaties or swim shoes and asks "we go to the pool?" multiple times a day. I think he will get more comfortable with water and aquatic park the more often we go.
Jilli loved the water until she slipped and the water from the floor sprays was hitting her right in her face. That was the end of water time for the Roberts Crew. She also slipped some and got some scraped knees and feet.

Be Prepared to be Impressed!!

As promised a video of little miss Jillian walking. She is even walking in sandals. She is getting more control every day. She can make turns and dodge obstacles now. Hard to believe that she is just 10 months old. Mommy is so proud. It makes me a little sad though, cause it just makes me think about how fast she is growing up. Does anyone know how to freeze time?

Enjoying the Backyard

Saturday afternoon after a morning of errands and some napping we decided to enjoy our super fun backyard and a nice warm sunny day. We got out our beach ball sprinkler. Drew was so excited he could hardly contain himself. I wasn't sure how Jilli was going to react, the only water she has ever been in is amniotic and the bath.

Oh man that water is cold when it hits your bare back!

Jillian first time to wear a swimsuit. This super cute suit was a gift from her Aunt Tammy. Isn't it adorable?
She is sitting in the water from the sprinkler. I don't think she minded too much because her hat was blocking it from hitting her face. The coolness of the water didn't seem to bother her a bit.
Lots of playing followed by some much needed rest.

Both kiddos enjoying the water.
Jilli mid fall. Walking in grass on a hill is much harder than inside.
Jilli bean liked the water even when it was hitting her in the face.
Wet shorts equals super fun super fast sliding :)

Happy Girl
Pudding pops at our new picnic table was a must. Jillian gave some funny faces to her first couple tastes of the pudding pop. I think the coldness caught her off guard. Once she got used to that she was giving the little bird open mouth for more and more.
Drew enjoying his pudding pop. If you haven't noticed Drew got a mommy and daddy haircut special this weekend. He said " mama a barber?"

After drip and drip and drip of his pudding pop he finally got to the end and looked at his belly and said oops! As if he just noticed. He must of thought he was going to get in trouble for making a mess, but instead he just got hosed down by dad.

Fun family time can't be beat.
