A Long Ride Home

It was a wonderful visit, but such a long trip home. Drew needed his upside down sunglasses because the sun was hurting his eyes. What a funny boy.

We were packed in the car like sardines and the extra diapers and pull ups were between the kids. Drew decided to entertain himself and us too. I was ordering a soda when I saw him in the rear view mirror and cracked up during my order. At first he was just wearing the pull up as a hat and then he pulled it all the way down. This kid keeps me laughing.
We finally made it home at6:45 and then it was time to feed and bath the kids, put them to bed and start getting ready for work. I wish I could find a way to get paid without working, it would make life so much easier.

Baby Ella Claire

On our way out of West Plains we made a stop to visit our friend Ella Claire. Here are the two girls playing together. Jillian and Ella Claire are 8 months apart. It seem like a big difference right now, but when then get older they will be perfect play mates.
Ella Claire was napping when we got there. Tara woke her up and she was she was such a good girl. Isn't she adorable.
Drew was all about Ella Claire. He gave her a sweet kiss on the check. She looks a little unsure of his affection.
And her gave a hug. He was very gentle and sweet with her.
Drew and Ella Claire entertaining each other.
Cutie Girl
Play time. They played well together. Jillian was less careful around Ella Claire. She just doesn't understand very well, she is used to playing with Drew.
I love her expression in this picture.

A Visit to West Plains

Saturday was Pam's birthday and we brought her a cake. She let Drew do the honors of blowing out her candles.
In the picture below next to Andy and Jillian is great aunt Karen. She was so sweet and wonderful with the kids. This was our first time meeting her.
Everyone enjoying the spread. Please notice George's blue shirt, it is important to a funny Drew story.
Uncle Chris
Drew and Jillian torturing Maggie. They weren't being mean to her or anything, but I think she was a little stressed out.
Okay to the funny Drew story: Sunday morning we are sitting at the table eating breakfast and George is in the kitchen. Drew ask him what his name was, George being funny said Sam. So the rest of the morning Drew was calling George, Sam and would ask where grandpa George was. I would point to George and say right there. Drew would say no that is Sam, grandpa George has a blue shirt. I don't know if he was just being a funny boy or if he really did think that they were two different people. It was pretty funny.
Grandma Pam, Grandpa George, Jillian and Drew
George making Jillian giggle.
Another Drew funny - Pam made rice krispie treats and Drew really like them. He would call them rice Christmas treats or rice Christmas trees, I could decide what he was really saying. It was just funny that everything is Christmas to him.
Thanks Pam and George for letting us stay and for putting up with our crew. We had a great time.

Grandma Pam and George's House

Santa visited grandma Pam's and Grandpa George's house too and we had proof. He left snowy footprints behind. Pretty Girl
Grandpa Corky came down and we all opened presents.
Both kids got lots of clothes, a book and tons of candy. Jillian got a bouncing Tigger and Drew got a Cars race track that he played with over and over and over.
Great Aunt Karen and Great Uncle Kerry got Drew and Jillian a new movie, the Pixar shorts. It was really cute, we watched it that night.

Baby Brock

On our way down to West Plains we made a little detour to visit baby Rock ( aka baby Brock) in Pittsburg. Jillian did great, I was a little worried about how she would react. She would just come over and peak at Brock when I was holding him. A good trial run for baby cousin. Drew liked to smell him, I am still now sure what that was about. He gave him a few good sniff and then one right before we left for the road. What a goof ball.He is finally home and doing great. Mama Anna and Baby Brock. He seems like such a mellow little boy. I may have just jinxed the Lawrence house.
So adorable and tiny. He is almost 8 lbs. My children were never this small except when they were inside me. I am so glad we went to visit.

Sweet Pups

The girls enjoyed their Christmas and Christmas bone. The next day we headed of the West Plains and the girls had to be boarded. It broke my heart. Bailey was visibly shaking when Andy was taking her to the vet (that is where we board them). The vet isn't open on Sundays so we didn't get them back until Monday around noon. I was so worried about them and I was feeling super guilty. I was so glad to have them back, poor girls.

An Eskimo Kiss

A very sweet Daddy and Jilli moment.

In case you were wondering like me - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eskimo_kissing

Build a Dog

Drew got this toy that you can build 3 different dogs with. He decided they needed to put it together.

Drew reading the directions. He makes me so proud!
Jillian hard at work.
Drew screwing in the nose.
Taa Daa!

A Christmas Day Basketball Game

No, it is not the blue and gold or pink and white tournament, just a Roberts family basketball game. Drew and Jillian vs Dad. Jillian's actions shot is below. She gave dad the fake and headed for the basket.
And she scores!
Dad couldn't stop Drew either.
Lucy was the kids secret weapon, she would distract the opponent while Drew went in for the dunk.
You can only guess who won. I am sure they will give dad a rematch though.

Cat Pillow

Someone loved the new pillow more than Jillian - Roxy! The pillow has relaxing herbs in it, like chamomile and lavender plus others. I didn't know what she liked so much about it until I talked to my mother-in-law and she said it was the hops in it. Roxy must be related to Uncle Bryce. The night before when I was wrapping she was acting a little strange around the package that it came in, but I didn't think it was related to the pillow just the plastic. But it was very apparent the next morning there was something she liked about it.
What a crazy cat!

Christmas is Finally Here!!

By the looks of things, Santa must have thought my children were very good this year. They checked out the kitchen first.
I knew they would both love it.
It even has a laundry area with a ironing board and "I-ron" as Drew would say.
So while checking out the kitchen Jilli went and snagged one of Santa's left over cookies. I just knew she was eyeing it last night. Drew opened his first gift and it was books about the alphabet, numbers and opposites.
Santa brought Drew Candy Land and we played it that night after sister went to bed. It was our first time playing a board game with little man. He had fun even if daddy did win.
Both kids got slippers. Jilli frogs and Drew dinosaurs.
Roar!
Before Christmas Drew would take his night night blanket and pretend it was his superhero cape, now he has the real thing. Sometimes he is Mr. Yucky and he slimes me, but that day I asked him his name and he said Super Snack - he must have been hungry.
Buzz Buzz - Jilli got a learning bee.
Santa came through - the one and only thing Drew has said that he wanted for Christmas, the guitar with fire (it has flames on it). Drew is a not only a super hero, but also a rock star. He would play his guitar and he wanted me to sing. We plan on going on tour in summer 2010. Write it down in your calendars. Jilli can be our back up dancer.
Jillian liked the gift bags the best because she could easily plow through the tissue paper to get to her present.
More Buzz
Time for stockings.
This picture is just to show the magnitude of the Christmas mess and we weren't even done opening our gifts.
Jilli Bean got lots of bracelets and loved them, sometimes she prefers to wear them as anklets.
Jilli and her first pillow. I know it seem like kind of a strange Christmas present, but this girl loves to put her head on our pillows and say "night night."
A keyboard and mouse just for Drew and eventually Jillian too. Uncle Brett passed down a computer to us that I think we will set up downstairs for the kids. The keyboard has extra big and color coordinated buttons to make it easier for little ones.
It was such a wonderful Christmas. The kids woke up around 6:45 and we spent almost 4 hours opening presents (better than last year, it took 5 days). We would open a couple and play with them and then open some more. We had lunch and we all took a nap and then played some more until bed. I couldn't ask for a better day.
