Bikers for Babies

So this Sunday was Bikers for Babies a fund raiser for March of Dimes, so thousand of motorcycles rode down Highway 32 not far from our house. We thought Drew would get a kick out of it, so we drove down. He waved at the motorcycles and everyone would wave back and honk their horns. He was amused but cold.

Once they past us Andy asked Drew where the motorcycles were and Drew said they're gone. Andy asked him where they went and he said Wal-Mart. How sad - you can tell where we go all the time.

Jillian was a good sport and just chilled in the truck with me.

It was cold, so the boys came back to the truck to watch the motorcycles and then Drew was more interesting in "driving." He wasn't listening so we went back to the house.

Drew picked me a wild flower while he was watching the motorcycles. I thanked him by squeezing him against his will.

Blurry Cheerio Face

So Drew so nicely shared his cold with the rest of us. Jillian started Saturday, me on Sunday and Dad on Monday. Jillian's nose is like a snot faucet and of course she hates having her nose wiped, of course. So she was eating some Cheerios for a snack and got up and started walking around when I noticed something on her face. A Cheerio was stuck to her face with snot. I know dad, this grosses you out, but I thought it was funny.

Blurry pictures again! It makes these pictures a little nauseating in more way then one. Our camera may be wearing out. It works hard, I take pictures of everything - obviously :)
She is also drooling like crazy. Sometimes I have to change her shirt just from drool. She is getting her two top molars. We know this because while torturing her with little noses and suctioning her nose, she was crying so hard that Andy could see her molars coming in. Poor baby girl, if only she could blow her nose in a Kleenex like brother.

The World's Shortest Circus

So we have been talking about the circus for a week. Drew knew all about cotton candy, clowns, acrobats ( they do flips and somersaults), elephants and Andy told him there was going to be a strong man there(he can lift heavy things). I just knew he was going to love it. I had taken off work, so we could go on a Thursday night which I hoped would be the least crowded. Thursday morning Drew was very whiny and crabby. We took his temperature after lunch because he felt warm. 101.6 Great! So we gave him some Tylenol and he took a good nap and when he woke up, he seemed better, so game on. We packed up and headed to the circus. Drew's thing is to pick a flower for mommy and he wants me to put it behind my ear (I did that once and now it is a requirement). He is such a sweet boy.

It was a little crowded, but not bad. We got some goodies and went to our seats. Andy left me with both kids and went to get some drinks. Drew had his snow cone in the tiger cup and it was going everywhere. It would have been fine if he had assistance, but I had my hands full with a wiggle worm sister. He ended up with snow cone soaked pants.

Then the clowns came out and that is when the meltdown began. The lights went out and there was fireworks explosions. Still no daddy (he was in line for drinks for over 20 minutes).

Drew was crying on the floor. When Andy came back with the sodas it didn't get any better. He was crying and saying he was scared, then he asked to leave. I made him apologize the lady in front of him, I am sure they were happy we were giving up the fight. Jillian was a wiggle worm, but once the show started she was entertained and clapping. Poor girl didn't even make one circus picture.

On the way home he was much better, we gave him some popcorn and his toy. When we got home he had a fever again and it turned out to be a long night. He woke up crying and he was so pitiful that he got to sleep in our bed. He woke up about 8 times crying and I would rub his back and he would go back to sleep. Around 4:00 am his fever broke and then everyone was up at 6:10. Not quite what I had planned. I think he would have like the circus if I had told him that it was going to be dark and loud and of course if he felt better. Maybe next year or two years from now. Oh yeah I think that he was disappointed with cotton candy, I think he was expecting candy pieces. I kept telling him it was fluffy and he would say "yeah fluffy and crunchy." Daddy didn't mind though, he likes cotton candy.

Spinkler Time

Saturday afternoon we brought out the sprinkler to cool off and water the lawn. Drew was yelling over to Owen's house, "Owen come over and play." Owen wasn't even out side. :) Happy girl Jilli in her very sun conscious hat.
A couple names besides, Jilli bean, Gigi bean and the bean that Jillian gets called regularly are grabbing goblin (or just goblin) and monkey. This is a prime example of a monkey moment. She climbs everything.

Jillian is happy she found a ball. You should see how excited she gets when Andy plays with the basketball inside.

This is Jillian at the top of the swing set tower. It makes me a nervous wreck.

I Married a Closet Male Cheerleader

What posses my husband to think, wonder if I could jump over the sprinkler? I have no idea. Drew and I were chanting "daddy, daddy, daddy" to cheer him on. Drew wanted to jump over it too. Daddy gave him some assistance.

What started as jumping transformed into this. See what I mean by male cheerleader.
This somersault over the sprinkler got Lucy rawled up.

Labor Day Weekend - Saturday Morning

We had no real agenda for the weekend since I was on call and had to work Sunday and Monday night as usual. So Saturday we woke up had some breakfast and headed out side to water plants and play. Chatty wants out and is giving Jilli the stare down. Jilli doesn't like walking out the back door and onto the deck. She usually gets stuck about right there and I have to pick her up.

Drew watering the neighbor's tree that is in our yard.
Hey guys, whatcha doin?
I took the kids for a wagon ride around the neighborhood. Jilli loves that wagon.

Bathed and Ready for Bed

Thursday night while I was sleeping Andy did his normal routine of feeding, bathing and putting the kids to bed. Bathing both of them by yourself is a challenge, he is a master at it though. Tonight after bath and before bed he tried to redeem himself from the blurry pictures from the first day of school. So he fixed the camera and tried to get picture of the kids hugging. This little girl looks sleepy and ready for bed.
Cutest boy ever!
Jilli seems to be giving dad a dirty look and Drew is doing something funny with his fingers.

Where is Lucy? Oh, on the couch, what a surprise. She even had Drew's pillow under head.

What are you doing daddy?

Hugging? Close enough.
