So we have been talking about the circus for a week. Drew knew all about cotton candy, clowns, acrobats ( they do flips and somersaults), elephants and Andy told him there was going to be a strong man there(he can lift heavy things). I just knew he was going to love it. I had taken off work, so we could go on a Thursday night which I hoped would be the least crowded. Thursday morning Drew was very whiny and crabby. We took his temperature after lunch because he felt warm. 101.6 Great! So we gave him some Tylenol and he took a good nap and when he woke up, he seemed better, so game on. We packed up and headed to the circus. Drew's thing is to pick a flower for mommy and he wants me to put it behind my ear (I did that once and now it is a requirement). He is such a sweet boy.

It was a little crowded, but not bad. We got some goodies and went to our seats. Andy left me with both kids and went to get some drinks. Drew had his snow cone in the tiger cup and it was going everywhere. It would have been fine if he had assistance, but I had my hands full with a wiggle worm sister. He ended up with snow cone soaked pants.

Then the clowns came out and that is when the meltdown began. The lights went out and there was fireworks explosions. Still no daddy (he was in line for drinks for over 20 minutes).

Drew was crying on the floor. When Andy came back with the sodas it didn't get any better. He was crying and saying he was scared, then he asked to leave. I made him apologize the lady in front of him, I am sure they were happy we were giving up the fight. Jillian was a wiggle worm, but once the show started she was entertained and clapping. Poor girl didn't even make one circus picture.
On the way home he was much better, we gave him some popcorn and his toy. When we got home he had a fever again and it turned out to be a long night. He woke up crying and he was so pitiful that he got to sleep in our bed. He woke up about 8 times crying and I would rub his back and he would go back to sleep. Around 4:00 am his fever broke and then everyone was up at 6:10. Not quite what I had planned. I think he would have like the circus if I had told him that it was going to be dark and loud and of course if he felt better. Maybe next year or two years from now. Oh yeah I think that he was disappointed with cotton candy, I think he was expecting candy pieces. I kept telling him it was fluffy and he would say "yeah fluffy and crunchy." Daddy didn't mind though, he likes cotton candy.
