The Easter Bunny Came to Bonner Springs

The Easter Bunny treated Drew and Jillian well. Drew got his first big boy pedal bike (now if it would only warm up), Bee Movie, a Backyardigans coloring book, Backyardigans kite, match box cars and enough candy to last him all year. Jillian got a walking toy and she walked behind it a little tonight (3/30). She also got bubbles, a teething bunny, shoes, sunglasses, books and sadly candy she can't even taste. The Easter Bunny hide eggs for Drew.

Drew first went for the parental assistance handle on the bike. You think I could get him to push me around instead of vice versa.
It didn't take Jillian long to attack the Easter basket.

Happy Easter!!!

Our Sunday Best

Sunday morning the Roberts family went to church with Nana and Papa at 7:00 am. That was an early morning. The kids did better than I expected. Jillian fell asleep in my lap and Drew did well except for one outburst. It was a Easter cantata, so lots of singing and there was a lull in the song and Drew yells "stop singing guys." Nice. This now has turned into him putting his hand up and saying stop singing, talking, buzzing guys. I tell him that, that is rude. But we haven't stopped it yet. I have no idea where he go that from. Anyway, we made it through church and breakfast afterwards. whewww!Drew hated his tie at first, until he saw that daddy was wearing one. I think that is the cutest. Jillian had her tulip dress on. I think she will wear that for her 9 month pictures with Jenny Wheat too. Here they are with their loot. Brett and Anne got them buckets and shovels filled with goodies. They will love them when we finally get our swing set with sand box set up.
Impossible to get a picture with both of them looking and smiling at the camera.

Yummy!

Cute pic, bad centering.

Nana bought Drew a airplane and helicopter and he played with them all weekend long. Cookie monster and Ernie were the pilots.

Better centering. Yes, our bow is clipped into our growing hair. People were asking how we got the bow to stay in her hair and Andy said we should say "hot glue" just for the reaction. What a sick sense of humor.

Easter at Nana & Papa's house with the Henke Family

Saturday morning the Roberts family made their way to Auxvasse, where the rest of the family was waiting. Especially McKenzie, she was ready to hunt eggs!! More drama that any one person could image hovers over the Robert's family and this day didn't disappoint. I can't even explain it, but it Jillian was took the brunt of her parents short comings. Poor little hungry girl. I don't even know what time it was when we finally hunted eggs. Miss McKenzie was very patient. Drew teamed up with his idol Kyle. Payton and Jillian were a team. I think Drew had a great time and Jillian was probably just hungry, but a good sport. Mom made a wonderful dinner and the vast array of desserts and candy to top it off.Andy, Superwoman Jillian and Payton

Later that day the girls were outside blowing bubbles with Drew and we caught a picture of him apex of his jump. I thought it was a funny picture. That kid loves to jump. He had a great time being outside.

Easter Gifts!

Jillian with the loot. My kids are very spoiled, but makes me very happy that so many people love them. I am sure it makes them very happy to, especially Drew when he is on a sugar high. Thanks to everyone who thought of my kids this Easter :)

Tootsie Rolls were a hit with Drew and still are. I can use them to bribe him to eat his veggies. Does that defeat the purpose, I am not sure. Below the celebratory dance.

"Open Pease!"

Jillian enjoyed just playing with the bag of M&M's. Next year little miss.

The Kansas City Zoo and Our Road Trip Back Home

Thursday we made a road trip back to Pittsburg, Carl Junction and Joplin. We hadn't been back since we had moved. We went to Mt. Carmel first and saw everyone there. Just like when I left. I really miss that place. Sounds strange to miss a place of work, but I loved everyone there. Then off to Cafe Del Rio to meet the Wilson's. Madeline was adorable as ever and her parents are shrinking. Drew had a wonderful time playing with Madeline. She has a very cool kitchen set and keyboard. Yes, my little man loves to play with kitchen sets. He loves to cook with me too. I just know he is going to be my little chef. Then off to Miss Shannon's for a visit. Drew cried when we left, if that tells you how good of time he was having. Then on a random siting we saw our best little buddy Trent. Yeah!Friday we went to the Kansas City Zoo. I was so excited to see little man's reactions. I had high expectations for the Lion's, because Drew loves to pretend he is a lion. His favorite - Baboon! What the heck. Baboon. Baboon all day long. On the way home we talked about the baboons and Drew said "No not baboon, good boon." That kid already had his dad's dry sense of humor and I love it. It was supposed to be 65 and sunny but it was high 50's and windy. About half way through we decided to call it quits. Little miss was all bundled up, but her face and hands were freezing. Andy and I were cold too, I don't think Drew minded it though. I decided we would come back another day and visit Australia. Drew would have loved it, he loves pretending to be a Joey. Next time I guess. Can you see me hiding behind the stroller, obviously not a very good job.
I took lots of pictures of the animals, but I didn't figure anyone would care about a hippo's ass.

Oh Deer!

Wednesday night on my way to work on Hwy 32 not far from my house I hit a deer :( I just topped a hill and she was running across the road and you know the rest. I was really shook up at first. Some lady stopped to help me, she saw the whole incident. Poor Ms. Deer was killed instantly. Of course I had to see if she was still breathing and thankfully she wasn't. I think it could have been way more traumatizing if it was half alive and suffering right in front of me. I called Andy and 911, although I am not sure which first. Andy had to get the kids out of bed and come get me. Then while we were completing the police report about 200 hundred feet from us, someone else hit and killed a deer. It was a full moon and warm out, I guess it makes the deer frisky. Finally I made it to work at 11:30, I am supposed to be there at 10:00. I guess car wreck is a pretty good excuse for being late. So the estimate was $6800 and we get it back April 8th. Thanks to mom and dad for loaning us a truck. I am sure that we could have made it on one vehicle, but it is so much easier with two.

Drew and Mommy's Date

The week of March 17th through 21st was Spring Break for Andy. So we took advantage of the time by spending some much needed family fun time. Wednesday Drew and I went to the Legends Theatre to see "Horton Hears a Who." We had been reading the book for the past couple of nights, so it was so cute to see the recognition on his face. We went to the 11:30 show and I was surprised how many people were there. Drew and I got there early to get our popcorn, Raisinets and soda and get a spot by the door, just in case. Drew did great, he sat in his own seat for the previews and about the first 10 minutes of the movie. The rest was spent on the coveted Mama Lap (which he doesn't always get to occupy when he wants, life with a little sister.) It was a good thing he was sitting on my lap, because I fell asleep for about ten minutes, almost at the end of the movie. If I would have fell asleep while he was in his own chair, he could have just wondered out. Thank god I am comfy.
