Brookside Saint Patrick's Day Parade

Saturday after we got home from Nana and Papa's house we had lunch and headed to a St. Patrick's Day parade. Here is Drew in his favorite green hat.The kids had beads, glasses, clappers and other St. Patty's day goodies. I couldn't believe how long Jillian kept on her blinking shamrock antennae. We didn't see as much of Brookside as I would have liked. We pulled the wagon through a crowded block and then headed back down the street to get a spot to watch. Jilli liked dragging the beads down the side walk. Right before this picture Drew had the green braids on and a man stopped and asked if we wanted our picture taken together. At the last second Drew put them on me and gave a grump look to the camera. The best way to contain the wild girl is to put her on someones shoulders. I chased her around for a while and then Andy would take a turn and then we started taking turns with her on our shoulders. I really wish I knew what got the girl pointing and so excited, but I just don't remember. Such cute, pure excitement on her face.Drew with the shamrock clapper.Jilli had the shamrock antennae on while she was on daddy's shoulders and she was so proud of herself when she got them on his head.Drew climbed this hill over and over and would run down. So you can image what sister wanted to do. Both ended up with permanently stained pants, oh well.My turn for Jilli containment.

There was a couple of fire trucks in the parade.
Jilli waving at the float riders and enjoying their bubbles.
A green doggy, how festive.
A green tractor Drew thought was pretty cool.
A band came through with some loud drums that hurt Drew's ears.

Clifford the Big Red Dog was there and Drew and Jillian both liked him.
Some very ugly cheerleaders - Yikes!
Both kids were tired and a little whiney, so instead of walking around to check out the area we opted for a quick trip home. Both kids fell asleep almost the instant we hit the highway. We need to get home a pack for our road trip anyway.
