The 5th of Moo-ly.

What goes through this kids head is a mystery. This costume has been in his closet since the Halloween (minus the day in January he modeled it), so what makes him want to wear it this day I haven't figured out. This is the best picture of 3, daddy needs to brush up on his photographer skills.

Happy Fourth of July!!!

So about 2 months ago we had new neighbors move in. The are in a house that is catty cornered and behind ours, so our yards meet at the corners. They are Shannon and Brett and they have two little ones Emily is going to be 5 in November and Owen just turned 3 last week. We visited with them one weekend when they were doing outside project and we so excited that Drew would have some playmates. Drew sees Owen at the daycare at the YMCA and they seemed to becoming fast friends. So we all decided to go watch the Bonner Springs fireworks together - which I don't know where those pictures are I will have to find them. Then on the fourth we decided to have a BBQ. We went to their house for dinner and some fun playing. The have a finished basement that has a huge room of toys. Drew and Owen were so cute playing together. Drew loved Owen's tee pee. Then we set off some kiddy fireworks, snap pops, smoke bombs, bees and parachutes. Owen did not like the big fireworks going off in our neighborhood at all. He would scream and wouldn't come outside. Drew on the other hand didn't seem to have enough fear of the fireworks, because I kept having to remind him that only Mr. Brett was to be by the lit smoke bombs. Drew and Emily ran through the colored smoke. Emily held her nose, it was really cute. I would have taken some pictures but I was holding the bean and Andy was supervising the boy. Below is a picture of Drew and Andy doing snap pops.
Drew is enjoying the show and a refreshing cup of milk. Emily is having a tea party with a alligator :) Poor Owen in inside.
Daddy and a tired Jilli bean.

After fireworks we went back to our house and had dessert, sangria and beer. The kids played and the parents visited until Emily said she was tired. I think it is the latest Drew has been up. He went to bed just before 11:00. We had a good time.

Jilli Bean

Jilli and I were having some girl time in her room before I went to bed. Sometimes I feel she is getting the short stick. Drew at this age got all of our attention to himself, she rarely gets just Jilli time. She obviously doesn't mind, because she doesn't know any better and she loves being with her big brother. Is she getting to be a big girl? The two following pictures she looks just like a baby Andy.
Go Cards!

So I am trying to show off her skillz, but she is more interested in playing. She claps, waves bye bye and will imitate you if you hold up your finger and ask her how old she is going to be. She has also mastered the skill of runaway. Today Drew was playing with a little fan and it dropped and she comes walking down the hall with the batteries from the fan. I saw her and said "Jillian no no" and started towards her and that little monkey turned and actually ran from me and did not give up the batteries with out a fight and cry. She has a good grip for a not yet one year old.

The second attempt at showing that she is going to be one. Then it abruptly ends when Drew, who just finished his lunch and clean up from dad, comes running down the hall to find Jilli and mommy and hurt himself. If you listen carefully you can hear him cry and he doesn't cry very often when he is hurt, so you know he is when he does cry. I will try again the next time Jillian and I are alone.

Oops!

Sorry I am a little behind. It has been a busy past couple of weeks. Andy found our camera in that back of the truck, yeah. I promise to catch up soon.

Cardinals Vs Royals

Bryce, Tammy, Andy and I went to the baseball game when the Cardinals came to KC. This the first time that Andy and I have ever been to a Royals game. From the moment we started walking to the stadium I couldn't stop smiling, it isn't very often the Roberts parents get to enjoys some adult fun. And we got to go with two of the funnest people I know, Bryce and Tammy. Unfortunately for Andy, Bryce and I, and fortunately for Tammy, the Cards lost. That didn't stop me from having a great time, plus they won the other two games that weekend.

We enjoyed some beer and food at ballpark and Bryce enjoyed him one spicy dog.
We had great seats. We were just 6 rows from the field. So our seats were in row G and I got to thinking, G is the seventh letter. I looked at the rows and turned to Andy and said " there is no A row." Funny guy replied " it is pronounced arrow and they know where they are going" referring to the players running the bases. I thought it was pretty funny, but I was also a couple beers deep.

Thanks Bryce and Tammy for a wonderful time!!!

Cowboy Drew Riding the Range

Our YMCA had a Cowboy and Cowgirls Day which included horse back riding or in Drew's case Pony back riding. He waiting patiently in line and was excited to ride. He amused the ladies with all of his cowboy quotes, "YeeHaw, Gittyup, Ridem Cowboy." He also made a cactus, searched for a water gun in a haystack and played horse shoes. Cowgirl Jilli did a lot of watching, maybe next time little lady.

Who Says Pirates Have Bad Teeth?

I have said it before, but I will say it again "This Boy is Amazing!!!" Drew went for his first check up at the dentist office. Earlier that day he came across his eye patch and from then on, he was a pirate that day, including the dentist visit. On the way to the appointment I tried to talk it up, because it could have honestly gone either way - perfect boy or complete meltdown. I told him how much pirates like the dentist and how much dentist like pirates. When we walked in the office Drew gave them an emphatic "AAARRR!" with arm motions. The ladies at the desk were amused and a few dental hygienist came to see the little pirate. When Dr. Jill, our dentist, came in he gave her an AARRR too and she played along and looked for treasure in his mouth. She asked Drew if he was Captain Feathersword (from the Wiggles) and he said "No, I just Drew." Drew let her poke around on his teeth with the metal instruments and followed all her directions. His teeth are great, no cavities and good spacing, just a slight overbite. Drew had fun sliding down the chair like a slide and watching Curious George. The next visit in January will include teeth cleaning, so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Camera MIA

We have lost our camera. As soon as it turns up and I pray that it does, I will post new pictures. The last time I remember having it was at the fireworks display in and we were in a field of cars. I hope that it is not lost in the grass or in pieces from being run over in the grass. Life, Ugh!
