So about 2 months ago we had new neighbors move in. The are in a house that is catty cornered and behind ours, so our yards meet at the corners. They are Shannon and Brett and they have two little ones Emily is going to be 5 in November and Owen just turned 3 last week. We visited with them one weekend when they were doing outside project and we so excited that Drew would have some playmates. Drew sees Owen at the daycare at the YMCA and they seemed to becoming fast friends. So we all decided to go watch the Bonner Springs fireworks together - which I don't know where those pictures are I will have to find them. Then on the fourth we decided to have a BBQ. We went to their house for dinner and some fun playing. The have a finished basement that has a huge room of toys. Drew and Owen were so cute playing together. Drew loved Owen's tee pee. Then we set off some kiddy fireworks, snap pops, smoke bombs, bees and parachutes. Owen did not like the big fireworks going off in our neighborhood at all. He would scream and wouldn't come outside. Drew on the other hand didn't seem to have enough fear of the fireworks, because I kept having to remind him that only Mr. Brett was to be by the lit smoke bombs. Drew and Emily ran through the colored smoke. Emily held her nose, it was really cute. I would have taken some pictures but I was holding the bean and Andy was supervising the boy. Drew is enjoying the show and a refreshing cup of milk. Emily is having a tea party with a alligator :) Poor Owen in inside.

After fireworks we went back to our house and had dessert, sangria and beer. The kids played and the parents visited until Emily said she was tired. I think it is the latest Drew has been up. He went to bed just before 11:00. We had a good time.
