Our subdivision had a fall festival this Saturday. We loaded up the kids and walked down to the lake/park area. There a lot of kids there, more than I knew were in the neighborhood.
The point of this picture was to show off Jilli's barrette with ribbon on it. It didn't even last the wagon ride down there. Oh well, it was cute while it lasted.
The wagon ride down.
First they ran around and played on the playground equipment. Drew found a boy with Buzz Lightyear jacket on. He would follow him around saying "hey boy." So I decided to teach him to how to introduce himself. I told him to say "hi, my name is Drew, what is yours?" This translated to him following the kid around saying "Hey boy, my name is Drew." Almost every kid that he introduced himself to gave him a blank stare in return. We will work on it.
Next was painting pumpkins. Yikes. I was the only anal mother who brought craft apron things, but I think it saved our shirts.
My little artist.
Jillian painting was interesting. Andy was a little stressed out.
His masterpiece.
We had grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and then they handed out goody bags to the kids. They were filled with toys and candy. So fun! Jillian was being difficult, climbing everywhere and running everywhere and before I could catch her she had already ruined a little girl's polka dot pumpkin. She picked it up and smeared all the dots. I felt so horrible. She was a handful until she got some food in her mouth. Once it got dark they handed out glow sticks and all the kids were running around.
They had a campfire and marshmallows. Jillian enjoyed her toasted marshmallow.
All the kids were playing and the older kids were having potato sack races and they would say "on you mark, get set, go." I always say this to Drew when he tells me he is a fast runner, so he got upset because he wanted to race. So I wrangle a sack from the big kids. Drew gets in and gets mad because it is too hard. I asked if he wanted to race and that made him more mad because he wanted to go slow. Did I mention he didn't have a nap that day. It was time to leave and Drew knew it too, he asked to go home. We had fun and met some new people and I signed up for Bunko :)
