Boo Boo Cheek

Thursday evening around 6:30 I woke up to a blood curdling Drew scream. I got up from bed so fast that I literally saw stars, but sprinted down the hall to see Andy holding a screaming, bleeding Drew. He reached for me and laid his head on my shoulder and was crying. He was bleeding from his mouth, but I couldn't really see what was going on. After Andy handed Drew to me, he bent over and was picking something up off the floor. My first thought was he was picking up Drew's teeth. It scared me to death. He calmed down, we got boo boo bear (the ice pack) and his pillow and blanket, turned on Backyardigans and began to evaluate.
There was a kitchen chair pulled out over by the B poster and a plaque/sign thing that hangs above the B poster was on the floor. Andy was running a bath for the kids and of course I was sleeping so neither of us saw what happened. Anything you asked Drew he answered yes to. Drew did you fall off the chair? - yes, Drew did you trip and fall into the chair? - yes. So who knows what really happened.
He had the obvious boo boo on his cheek and it looked like he bit the side of his cheek/lip too. His big toe was bleeding also. I was trying to check him out, by squeezing his arms and legs and asking him where it hurt. Like I said I don't know if he fell off the chair or not. After my asking him multiple times where his boo boo was and him answering multiple times "my cheek." The final answer was in the most annoyed tone - boo boo cheek mom!!! I was interrupting his Backyardigans. We let him stay up for a while to see if he was okay. His eyes looked fine, no vomiting and normal playing. I also pushed around on his cheek bone and it felt intact. So we decided that there was no need for an ER trip. That night Andy went in his room to wake him up and make sure that he was able to respond. This kid was probably really annoyed by his parents, you think.

Drew would hold boo boo bear on his cheek and count to ten with me. I was hoping to keep the swelling down. It is 6 days later and there is still a noticeable bruise on his cheek. It is leaving the purple/ blue stage and now has some brown and green hues to it. By the way Andy was picking up a screw from the sign so Jillian wouldn't get it, thankfully not any of Drew's teeth.
