Pool Party

This week my brother Brett and his family moved in to a new house. They closed on Thursday and moved in Friday. We came to visit Saturday and their house looked more unpacked and organized than ours did 6 months after we moved in. Their new house is awesome. Tons of room and the girls finally get their own rooms. It is funny that neither seemed overly ecstatic about it, maybe they are just used to sharing. Some times different is a little scary. I know they will appreciate it in the future. Everyone needs their own space. The best part about the house is their pool in the backyard. Drew won't stop talking about uncle Brett's sandbox (under the swing set) and his pool, even though he barely left the stairs of the pool. I don't know what has caused this boy's fear of water, but he is definitely cautious. I bought the kids suit with floatation devices built in and I don't know if they were as great as I thought, but they did ease my mind a a little. We brought other water toys too, including Drew's alligator he named Al. Very original don't you think. I like to ask Drew the name of things to see what he will come up with. The other day he said there was a monster in his room. I asked what the monster's name was and he said "scary." Ha ha! Below is Nana and Drew playing with Al on the steps of the pool.

Jillian and I enjoying the water. The problem with their life vest/swim suits was they kept riding up over their chins, not very comfortable. Jillian loves the water, but she got exhausted quickly. I was holding her and she leaned her head against me and closed her eyes. Mom thought she was going to fall asleep. We took her in and changed her, laid her down for a nap in the pack-n-play and didn't hear a peep for 2 hours.
Brett, Anne, McKenzie and Payton.

Me and Jillian"swimming" and Drew and Nana on the steps :)
There is a part of the pool that has seats in it. Very relaxing.
Drew finally let Nana take him away from the steps. Two points, he made a basket.

We drove up Saturday morning and got to Brett's around noon and left a little before 6:00. Thirty minutes into the trip down, our DVD player broke and life saver Brett let us borrow his for the ride back. By the time we got home it was 10:00 and both of the kids were exhausted and at melting point. Both were crying. We changed their pants, put on PJ's and off to sleepy town.
