The Actual Birthday

So I like to spend the kids' birthdays with them, just the two of us. It is a special day for both of us.
Brand New vs Just Two
What a difference a couple years makes.

Friday morning for Jillian's birthday we went to the actual Gymboree.
She of course loved it. This little girl is fearless.
The picture below is kind of funny - she was jumping (and she stuck the landing).
After some fun at Gymboree we headed to Build a Bear.
She picked out a hideous Hello Kitty to make and I just couldn't let that happen. So I pushed her to make a bear. She liked the purse for the bear more than she liked the bear or bear making process.
So she wouldn't press on the peddle to stuff her bear, so I had to do it and at the end the BAB guy let a tiny bit of stuffing fly out on purpose. Jillian thought this was hilarious. BAB guy started stitching up her bear and she goes over and presses the pedal. He didn't turn of his stuffer and lots of bear fluff flew everywhere. He got a good laugh out of it and I think that was Jillian's favorite part of the process. I apologized for the mess and he was super nice and said it was his fault for leaving it on. No harm done.

We named our bear "Curly Bear" I know not very original, oh well.
Jillian liked carrying her bear box with the finished product inside.
Curly Bear ended up with a birthday t-shirt, birthday cake, flowers in her hair, the purse and a brush and blow dryer set that Jillian insisted on (it is her birthday - the perfect day to give in). She also sing a birthday song that Jilli likes to dance to.
Next we headed to lunch. I think this was our first time dining just the two of us.
Munch Munch... we worked up an appetite that morning.

Jillian went down for a long nap. While she was napping Nana and I went to pick up Drew for a surprise. Nana and birthday boy Papa took Drew to the Moon Marble Company in Bonner and then out for ice cream. I think he liked having some individual attention and then the whole day wasn't just about sister. He had a really hard time going to daycare that morning without her and cried that day a couple of times because he missed his sister.
After a pizza dinner we headed outside for the biggest surprise. We got a new playhouse. It was for both kids, but Jillian's birthday gave us some justification for it.
Andy and I put it together the night before and it was in our backyard all day Friday. Every time we came up to the house we would have to distract Drew, because he would have noticed it right away.
Exploring the new place.
Drew looks so grown up in this picture. I can almost picture this lady killer as a teenager.
He kept pretending this was his McDonald's. I guess that is a hint that we need to lay off the DDP stops.
Playing in the new house is fun, but not as good as some Nana lovin.
Each side of the house has a different theme. This one is obviously sports, but there is also a gas station, school, ATM and market.
The sand box was irresistible for the birthday girl.
By the time we headed in we had to fish out one bow and one shoe from the sand box.
Daddy and the birthday girl :)Nana playing with the jumping Jilli bean.
So I bought these lollipops a while ago because there were just a buck. What better day than a birthday to enjoy them.
Yes, these lollipops are the size of their heads.
Drew was super excited about these, he noticed them earlier in the week when I got them out.
Monkey see.....Monkey do.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!! I hope she can feel how much I love her and that every birthday will be just as great as this one.
