So Thursday after Jillian came home from school, she was pretty puny. We just lazed around, kept her fever under control and she went to bed early. Friday morning Andy calls me about 15 minutes before I get off work and asked of I am on my way home. You can guess my answer "uh, no." "You should, Jillian's fever is 103.6." Yikes, neither of my kids have ever had a fever that high. I tell him to give her some ibuprofen and stick her in the tub, which you can imagine, she didn't love. I get home and her fever had dropped to 102 and I knew I was in for a long day. I called the pediatrician and made an appointment.
These pictures are from my new phone on the way home from the pediatrician. Jillian had swollen lymph nodes in her neck and pus pockets in the back of her throat. That earned her a throat swab for strep, which came back negative. We left with a diagnosis of acute viral pharyngitis (a sore throat caused by a virus) and a prescription of plenty of fluids and ibuprofen and/or Tylenol to control the fever and pain. These picture are at least 20 minutes after the throat swab and she is still crying. Poor baby girl.
She spent a lot of time in her diaper because of the high fever.
We made it through the day and both went to bed early.
You can tell by her eyes that she doesn't feel good.
So Saturday morning she woke up before my alarm went off at 5:30 and was burning up. 103 something again, so back in the tub. By the time we got her fever down and her somewhat calm it was almost time for me to leave for work and I hadn't even showered yet. So I called in sick. I am glad that I did because I don't think Andy could have handled both that day. Saturday was worse than Friday. She whined/cried all morning until her nap. She took a long nap and her fever finally broke. After that she was back to a slightly subdued normal self.
These pictures are at about 10:30 in the morning and she fell asleep on my lap watching cartoons. That has never happened before. Look at her little red nose :(
After the nap and fever, she enjoyed some goldfish with Drew and both of them ate with spoons. What goof balls. So all these pictures were taken with our new Blackberry phones. The pictures are really good if there is no motion. Some are a little blurry because my two never hold still.
There is a smile that I hadn't seen all day.

A random picture from the new phone. I was just playing and yes Drew is doing a puzzle in the car. Isn't he the cutest little boy ever!!
