So last Wednesday I picked Jilli up early from daycare and we headed down to Crown Center to check out Kaleidoscope. It is a free (can't beat that) and sponsored by Hallmark. It is a pretty amazing place where kids can do crafts. There are no specific stations, just place with different materials and you just let their imaginations run wild. Jillian is probably on the younger side, but I knew she would like it. She loves to color. Here is a link for a better explanation. http://www.hallmarkkaleidoscope.com/
It started out great. Jillian running around exploring.
Check out that wild hair. They had water day that morning at school. So those are piggies that got wet and then were slept in. Yikes!
What do you see in there sis?
A Jilli Dog
So after being there about 30 minutes she insisted on being held and was way over this place, which I thought was really weird. I wanted to finish her project so we stuck it out. Our faithful friends the Longs were there too and she kept telling Ms. Shannon "bye." I guess I should have taken the hint because it only got worse from there.
Miss Emily
After Kaleidoscope we went to Sheridan's for some ice cream. On the way there she had 3 fits at the escalators. She want to go down them, then we did go down one she almost wiggled out of my arms because she wanted stand on the step. I should have known something was wrong. So at Sheridan's in the world longest line and sis is insisting on being held. My arm was killing me. Once we got our vanilla scoop with sprinkles and diet coke there was no way to carry her. Again complete melt down. I am walking to the tables, not very far at all and she is just standing in the middle of the foot traffic crying. I set our stuff down and grab her while a small group is staring at her thinking she was lost and alone. So she eats about 4 bites of this ice cream that was literal torture to get. I thought she would love it, otherwise I wouldn't have stood in that line.
We head upstairs and before leaving and hit a very cool toy store. Jillian picked out a lovely necklace and bracelet and we got Drew a front loader. We have this book about trucks, so he is very in to all the correct names. It is pretty cute. The other day we passed a semi and he got so excited and said "mom, mom did you see that sleeper cab?" Here is Jillian with her jewelry and her 2 year old princess wand that we made.
She also made these cute glasses, they were in the glow in the dark room where all the paint and markers glowed. It was a rough trip for the two of us, I don't know if you could actually call it quality time. I found out the next day what the problem was. Daycare called about 11:30 and said Jillian had a fever of 102.5 Poor girl was puny and I was just too dumb to figure it out.
Earlier that week Drew and I went to the Free movie at the Legends. "We" watched Mr. Magorium Wonder Emporium. Before the movie, we ran errands and I think he like that a lot too, being my little helper. At the movie he got pop corn, an orange soda and whoopers. He was in heaven. He did great during the movie. That night Andy asked him if mommy stayed awake and he said "no." I guess he noticed, sorry buddy.
