So exactly one week after I got a call from the daycare about Jillian's fever, I got a call about Drew and that he had a fever. So sleepy faced, I go and pick them both up. When I got there all the kids were finishing up lunch and some were playing and Drew was laying on a cot and his teacher was rubbing his back. Now that is how you care for kids - made me even more confident in the care he is getting at this new place. So we packed up and on the way home Drew asked why Miss Sam said his back was on fire. I explained because it felt really hot because of his fever. Isn't funny how things we say everyday will sometimes perplex a three year old. So we all went to bed a little after 1:00 and Drew didn't wake up until after 5:00. I guess his body needed the rest. When he woke up, we got him some throat spray and strawberry milk and then took his temp. 104.1 !!!! I couldn't believe it, so into the tub he goes. He did not like this at all. I was trying to make it more appealing, I got water guns - that didn't make it better, I got popsicles to eat in the tub - he didn't want one. So he just cried and hugged me while we poured water down him. Jillian was all about the bath and loved eating her popsicle. Finally after another dose of ibuprofen it starting coming down. Andy went in and got happy meals for dinner - he has barely ate anything all day and they watched movies all evening until bed. I called Andy tonight at midnight to check on him and give him another dose of medicine and he said that he was soaking with sweat and temp was 98. I am hoping this is the end of it so we can do at least half of our fun activities we had planned this weekend. I am dying to know if he if feeling better, but I don't think Andy would appreciate a call right now. I guess I will wait till I get home.
